Founder of Amelia James Interiors, Mary Collins blends creativity, technical expertise, and a refined eye for design. With an engineering degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, she brings a rare balance of strategy and artistry to every project. Before launching her own firm, Mary served as a senior designer at SKIN Interior Design, where she led high-end residential projects and honed her talent for creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. Known for her calm, detail-driven approach and deep understanding of both design and project management, Mary guides each client through a seamless, personalized process—transforming houses into homes that reflect the people who live in them.
Amelia James Interiors was founded in memory of my late parents, Jim and Amelia—two people whose love of travel, culture, and meaningful details shaped the way I see the world. When our family moved to Tokyo during my childhood, it sparked a lasting appreciation for beauty, history, and the way spaces tell a story.
Their passport signatures are woven into the Amelia James logo—a personal tribute to the legacy they left me. At Amelia James Interiors, I carry that spirit forward: creating homes layered with antiques, heirlooms, and thoughtful design that feels collected, elegant, and deeply personal. Because every home should tell a story—and every client should feel truly at home.
